President Donald Trump said he was “not in a rush” to force North Korea to abandon its nuclear programme and added that he was “happy” so long as Pyongyang was not testing weapons.
Mr Trump made the comments on Sunday, just days before he was due to fly to Vietnam for a second summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.
“I’m not in a rush, I don’t want to rush anybody,” Mr Trump said at the White House. “I just don’t want testing. As long as there’s no testing, we’re happy.”
